Gaga, 34, posted the throwback chic snap of herself and Adam posing against a snowy Alpine setting as the then happily married Gucci couple.

Adam plays onetime brand chief Maurizio Gucci and Gaga plays his ex-wife Patrizia Reggiani who was convicted of ordering his 1995 murder by a hit man.

Gaga, who frequently expresses pride in her Italian heritage, captioned: ‘Signore e Signora Gucci #HouseOfGucci.’

Legendary director Ridley Scott whose movies include Alien and Gladiator is at the helm of the biopic which will feature Patrizia’s trial.

Patrizia married Maurizio in 1972 and based on the clothing choices of Gaga’s first look image it appears to show their life in the 1970s.

The couple lived a sensational jet-setting lifestyle amid a social circle that included Jacqueline Onassis who also lent her luster to Gucci’s clothes.

Patrizia gave Mauricio two daughters – Alessandra and Allegra – but he dumped her for another woman in 1985 and the divorce became official in 1991.

In a Guardian profile a few years ago Patrizia discussed their marital problems and pointed to his poor skill at running the company after his father Rodolfo died.

Gruppo Gucci hemorrhaged money under Maurizio who eventually sold it to the Bahrain-based company Investcorp in 1993.

‘I was angry with Maurizio about many, many things at that time. But above all, this. Losing the family business. It was stupid. It was a failure,’ said Patrizia in 2016.

‘I was filled with rage, but there was nothing I could do,’ she confessed before adding softly: ‘He shouldn’t have done that to me.’

Although she had a hit man dispatch Maurizio, the grandson of the brand’s founder Guccio Gucci, in 1995 she was not arrested until the beginning of 1997.

When a reporter asked her why she used an assassin instead of doing the job herself she joked: ‘My eyesight is not so good. I didn’t want to miss.’

The ‘Black Widow’s’ trial became a media circus and she was convicted of the murder in 1998, serving 18 years before being paroled in 2016.

She had been offered parole a half-decade prior but turned it down because of the expectation that she would find employment.

‘I’ve never worked in my life and I don’t intend to start now,’ Patrizia reportedly informed her lawyer at the time.

Roberto Bentivegna adapted the script of the film from Saray Gay Forden’s book The House Of Gucci: A Sensational Story Of Murder, Madness, Glamour And Greed.

Production reportedly started in Rome last month and the movie is scheduled to be released this November 24 the day before Thanksgiving.

Gaga and Adam are both coming off recent Oscar nominations for acting, though they both have yet to win in that category.

He got a best actor nomination last year for Noah Baumbach’s Marriage Story and a best supporting actor nod the previous year for Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman.

Gaga was nominated for best actress for Bradley Cooper’s 2018 remake of A Star Is Born and although she did not win that prize she got best original song for Shallow.

In 2019 Patrizia herself was asked about the film by RAI and said she was unhappy that her daughters would have to relive ‘the situation of their father.’
