Kimberley Walsh has revealed she has struggled during the winter lockdown as she prepares to welcome a new baby.
The former Girls Aloud singer, 39, is expecting her third child with husband Justin Scott, 38, after deciding they ‘weren’t done’ adding to their family.
She admitted that she has found the second phase of lockdown ‘tough’ and said it made her understand how people can have difficulties with their mental health.

In an interview in the new issue of Heat! Magazine, she said: ‘This year has been really testing. During the first lockdown, I felt like I was really in control.
‘I was exercising every day and cooking and growing stuff – but it was all very positive – but this second phase has been tough.
‘It’s the first time I’ve actually thought, “I can see why people have issues with mental health.” I’d never felt like that before – it was scary.’

The pop star also revealed that she finds it hard to relax as her brain ‘doesn’t switch off’ and said she is ‘terrible’ at meditation.
The mother-to-be hinted at her struggles with coping in the midst of the UK’s third national lockdown in an Instagram post on Sunday.
She displayed her 27-week baby bump in gym gear as she blamed a ‘lack of motivation’ for not working out as much as she would like to.
In the caption, she wrote: ‘I have to be honest I’m not doing nearly as much as I’d like mainly due to homeschooling and lack of motivation in this last lockdown.’

Another reason she gave for not working out is due to spending time homeschooling her two sons Bobby, six, and Cole, four, and is hopeful to have more time to exercise now that her kids have returned to school.
Kimberley also shared a timelapse video of her performing a pregnancy workout from her home, as she was seen using a kettle bell while standing on a yoga mat.
Later taking to her Instagram Stories, Kimberley uploaded a post-workout selfie, as she held her hand onto her bump.
She looked radiant as she posed in a black crop top and bright pink gym leggings for the snap as she wrote: ‘Managed a workout and feeling so proud of myself. Probably worked off a quarter of one pancake but I feel so much better.’

Kimberley confirmed last December she and husband Justin were expecting their third child in an interview with OK! Magazine, after deciding to add to their brood following the first lockdown together.
The singer, who was 15 weeks pregnant at the time, told the magazine: ‘We chatted throughout the lockdown and said family is everything and we’re not really done, and we’d quite like to add one more to the fold.’
She added: ‘For the family, it’s been a bit of light in the distance and something to look towards and get excited about, and plan for.’

Kimberley explained that the chance to slow her career down this year meant she reevaluated with what was most important to her.
She explained: ‘I’ve had a few busy years of working and being a mum. I’m a certain age where it’s a bit now or never.
‘There was no way in my head that I felt like I was done.’
The star added that she waited longer inbetween having her youngest and falling pregnant again because of her busy schedule.

Kimberley said she knew she was pregnant the minute her period was late, but she and Justin waited to break the news until she was further along.
The pair set up a Christmas treasure hunt which culminated with a note left under the tree, which read: ‘Mummy has a baby in her tummy.’
The proud mum revealed her boys are desperate for a baby brother, and unlike her previous pregnancies she is keen to find out the gender at her 20-week scan.
Kimberley met her musician husband Justin at a gig back in 2003 and the couple have been married since 2016.
