She sweetly stated: ‘I’m really lucky. I’ve got lots of dads. I trust them.’

Kate was married to Chris from 2000 to 2007, and began dating Matt in 2010, became engaged the following year before splitting in 2014.

She revealed that Matt made a pact with her many years ago, saying: ‘One thing that Matt said to me, which I loved, is, “I just want to make sure that Bing feels like he’s gaining something, not losing something”…

‘I think it’s even bonded us closer—me, Matt, Elle [Evans, Bellamy’s wife], and Danny [Fujikawa]—because we have to trust that we’re protecting each other.’

She went on her first date with Danny in 2016 – having met through his stepsisters Erin and Sara Foster when she was 23 – and announced she was expecting Rani Rose in April 2016 before welcoming their daughter on 2 October that year.

Kate juggles her acting career with various businesses, including athleisure line Fabletics, vodka brand King St. Vodka and supplement line InBloom.

Aside from parenting, she also spoke about how the start of the pandemic affected her creatively as she candidly said: ‘Whenever I had nothing to do, I felt like I should be doing a million different things…

‘My brain just literally couldn’t stop. The beginning of the pandemic was very stressful for me and the teams, and I didn’t have any time to reflect on anything. I just wanted to try to save the companies.’

It seems however, once she learnt to use the time wisely, Kate managed to engage with her creativity during the free time she had been blessed with.

She said: ‘For innately creative people, when we get the space to daydream, it’s a gift. Then you come out and hopefully have all these ideas.’

Speaking about wellness overall, she said: ‘I’ve always felt that wellness is about your quality of life. You need to know what makes you feel good…

‘It’s about doing the things you love, eating the things you want to, exercising and not feeling like you need to [push yourself] for two hours in a hot room. You can just take a nice walk and still be healthy.’

Known for her work in romantic comedies like How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days and Raising Helen, Kate said she will ‘definitely’ return to the genre in the future.

She added: ‘I will definitely do rom-coms again. But I haven’t been happy with the way people try to convince me a rom-com should be.’

Looking to the future, Kate believes she will eventually transition more from acting to directing.

She said: ‘I will act when I want, but I want to tell stories. I’ll be the woman with all those crazy, big bracelets, jewelry, and caftans, directing.’
