‘Thanks to everyone who has sent good vibes my husband’s way,’ Em wrote to her followers.

‘He’s on the mend, still in hospital because his bloody heart is being a little diva.

‘He was in the final stages of a race and went for a gap that closed up apparently. He wanted me to tell you all that he would’ve won otherwise.’

She went on the thank the ‘ambos’ who ‘peeled him off the road’, and the nurses who are ‘dealing with his snoring’.

‘He gave us quite the fright, I’m book-marking my emotional breakdown for the end of the month,’ she jested.

‘I’m also obviously gonna strap his bike to the roof racks of my car and drive under a low hanging car port… Again…’

Em, who shares three children with Scott, later posted an emotional video with tears in her eyes exclaiming how ‘grateful’ she was to the nurses caring for him.

She said: ‘The patient is doing well, his heart is being a diva, it’s playing up – irregularities they’re worried about, which can apparently happen after trauma, so they’re keeping him in for tests and stuff.

‘He’s the fittest person I know, so hopefully it’s all OK.’

‘I just want to say thank you to all the nurses, just in general,’ she added. ‘A lot of nurses follow me, and I wear that as a badge of honour.

‘Nurses are on the whole, solid humans. You’re not paid enough, and you’re magic, and thank you for looking after my husband.

‘And yes, it could be worse. I am grateful that is wasn’t.’
