  • Ms Pearson’s home was attacked in December 2017 and she died in August 2019
  • Brierley, who is currently in custody, is now due to be sentenced at a later date

A woman has pleaded guilty to the manslaughter of a mother-of-five who died in a house fire in Salford.

Courtney Brierley, 23, appeared over videolink at Manchester Crown Court this afternoon, where she entered a guilty plea to the manslaughter of 37-year-old Michelle Pearson.

Police and fire crews were called to reports of a house fire in Walkden, Greater Manchester, shortly before 5am on December 11, 2017.

Courtney Brierley, 23, appeared over videolink at Manchester Crown Court this afternoon, where she entered a guilty plea to the manslaughter of 37-year-old Michelle Pearson

Ms Pearson was taken to hospital, but died two years later on August 25, 2019.

Brierley, who is currently in custody at HMP Send, in Surrey, will be sentenced at a later date.

Zak Bolland, 26, and David Worrall, 28, are due to stand trial on Monday (March 15) charged with murder.
