‘I am honored to lend my voice to celebrate and inspire women on this International Women’s Day. I hope our rendition of I’m Every Woman sheds light on the incredible strength of empowered women — women who are changing the world by leading their communities,’ Khan said in a statement.

‘We especially pay tribute to the female heroes who have been at the forefront of the fight against COVID-19 this past year. I stand with CARE and the work they do across the globe to support women and girls everywhere. This International Women’s Day, help CARE and me spread the message that when women are healthy, educated, and thriving, we are all uplifted,’ she added.

Khan first released I’m Every Woman in 1978 and it was a breakout hit following her exit from funk group Rufus.

The new version of the song was produced by Grammy-winner Tena Clark, 67.

‘The #IMEVERYWOMAN Campaign illustrates the incredible capacity every woman has to affect change, especially during crises, which is a reflection of our mission and the work we do at CARE to ensure all women can forge their own paths and reach their true potential. Partnering with so many extraordinary women, including Chaka and Idina, for this campaign is inspiring to me and I’m so excited we get to share that inspiration with the world,’said Michelle Nunn, President & CEO of CARE.

‘It’s been a hard year for so many and I hope this campaign serves as a joyful reminder that women have achieved extraordinary things and will continue to lead the way to build a better world where every woman is valued, heard, respected, and free,’ Nunn added.
