Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven passionately kiss and make up on Married At First Sight

‘You actually have really nice eyes’: Melissa Rawson and Bryce Ruthven passionately kiss and make up on Married At First Sight… before he delivers a backhanded compliment

After Bryce Ruthven complained that ‘wife’ Melissa Rawson doesn’t have blue eyes at the commitment ceremony, they were determined to get their relationship back on track on Monday’s episode of Married At First Sight.

The couple was assigned a task, which involved them staring into each other’s eyes for a prolonged period of time.

Sitting in between each other’s legs on the floor of their apartment, Bryce and Melissa, both 31, wrapped their arms around each other and proceeded to stare.

And it wasn’t long before things heated up, with Bryce rubbing his nose against Melissa’s before leaning in and giving her a kiss.

‘Can’t look at you for that long and not give you a kiss,’ he told her.

They then enjoyed a heavy makeout session as they sat entwined in each other’s arms and legs.

‘I haven’t felt that close to Bryce the whole time until that moment,’ Melissa confessed.

She added: ‘I can’t describe it. It just made me realise how much I like him.’

Both Melissa and Bryce admitted they’d never sat staring into someone’s eyes before, but acknowledged it was ‘comfortable’ and ‘kind of nice’.

‘I didn’t want to go anywhere else. I was quite happy sitting there,’ Bryce later confessed.

‘I didn’t hear anything. I was just staring smack bang into those eyes, and they’re not that bad after all.’

Talking to Melissa, Bryce said: ‘You actually have really nice eyes. Regardless of the colour.’

Clearly taken aback, Melissa later noted: ‘It was good until then. You know, they’re not blue eyes, but good enough.’

Melissa then firmly told Bryce that his interest in her shouldn’t be based solely on the colour of her eyes.

‘I never said I didn’t like them, I just said I preferred another colour,’ he told her.

Married At First Sight continues Tuesday at 7.30pm on Channel Nine
