Amy Schumer marks one year of COVID-19 lockdown with a pre-pandemic photo series as she asks her fans ‘What are you missing today?’
Amy Schumer is looking back on the days pre COVID-19 pandemic, as she shared a carousel of photos to Instagram on Sunday.
Nostalgic for the days of family, friends, and being on the road, the 39-year-old comedienne marked one year of lockdown with some memories.
Sharing snippets of the things she longed to do and places she’d rather be, Schumer posed the question ‘What are you missing today?’ to her 10.4M followers.

Though usually quite humorous, the message behind her post was genuine, with only one slight jab at a friend in her caption.
‘One year into this pandemic today I’m missing my sister @kimcaramele being on the road with my best friend @rachelfeinstein_ hanging at the @comedycellarusa with my nemesis @keithrobinson438 and my dad. What are you missing today?’
A photo tribute for each person mentioned, Schumer stroked her sister’s head in one photo, strutted down the streets of NYC with a pal and hung with her father, and even did a little gambling in Las Vegas.
In a May NY Times interview Amy spoke about how she was faring in the pandemic, revealing how hard it was to be away from her dad who battles MS, while trying to put everything into perspective.

‘I’m worried about my dad, who is in assisted living where 15 people have died. My mom is alone. It’s upsetting. And my friends who are nurses, a lot of them had it. But my day-to-day is nice. It’s nice to have a baby, because it gives you a routine, and he doesn’t know what’s going on,’ she shared.
Schumer revealed that she missed doing stand-up more than anything, but was optimistic that it would eventually return, while sharing that comedians would have to ‘pivot and evolve’ during this time in order to stay relevant.
She also added that she had no plans of going to a set or venue unless she knew everything was safe, as she talked about her duty as a mother to her 22-month-old son Gene.

‘I’m not going to go to the Comedy Cellar for a year at least – It’s the biggest risk. If I didn’t have a baby, I might be a little more chill. You care if you die less if you don’t. But now, I’m like, I better stay alive, I guess.’
Her latest project is an upcoming Hulu show called Life & Beth (formerly Love, Beth) – a scripted comedy series about an unsatisfied Manhattan woman, in which Schumer is the executive producer and star.
It seemed to get sidetracked along with countless other productions on account of the pandemic, but Amy shared a photo from set on Friday as they shot the fourth episode.
Glad to be back to work after nearly a year off she wrote ‘D**n it feels good.’
