Reese Witherspoon and Lauren Neustadter accept Producers of the Year award at the 2021 Caucus Awards

While Reese Witherspoon is best known for her acting skills, Reese Witherspoon was honored for her work as a producer on Thursday night.

Witherspoon, 44, and her producing partner, Lauren Neustadter, were honored as Producers of the Year at the 2021 Caucus  Awards.

Witherspoon and Neustadter, who run the production company Hello Sunshine, attended the event virtually, along with the other honorees.

Witherspoon and Neustadter produced Little Fires Everywhere and Truth Be Told in 2020, with several other projects in development. 

Aaron Sorkin, who wrote and directed Netflix’s critically-acclaimed drama The Trial of the Chicago 7, was named Writer of the Year. 

He also wrote the beloved A West Wing Special To Benefit When We All Vote, which debuted before the November election.

Nicole Kidman presented the award for Director of the Year to Susanne Bier, who directed the Aussie actress in the HBO mini-series The Undoing.

Bier directed all six episodes of The Undoing, created by David E. Kelley, which follows a happy couple’s life that is turned upside down due to a murder case.

Kidman will next be seen in yet another mini-series, Nine Perfect Strangers, with Bobby Cannavale and Tiffany Boone.

Alfonso Ribeiro presented the Caucus Legend Award to iconic producer Vin Di Bona, one of the early pioneers of reality television. 

Di Bona created America’s Funniest Home Videos, which Ribeiro currently hosts and is now in its 31st season on ABC. 

He also produces Lovely Bites, Worlds Funniest Videos and many other reality television programs.

Universal Filmed Entertainment Group chairman Donna Langley presented Marsai Martin with the Rising Star Award.

Martin, 16, signed a first-look deal with Universal when she was just 14 years of age, and she was acknowledged as the youngest producer ever for her work on Little, which she also starred in and Universal released in 2019. 

Martin also stars on the hit ABC series Black-ish, and she is part of the voice cast for the upcoming Paw Patrol movie.

Jeanne Townsend and her husband Tom were named the Humanitarians of the Year by the Caucus as well. 

There was also a special appearance by The Caucus for Producers Writers Directors co-founder Norman Lear. 

The festivities were hosted by Grey’s Anatomy star James Pickens Jr.
