Natalie Portman transforms into Chris Hemsworth’s Norse god character during filming in Sydney

She’s set to pick up Thor’s legendary hammer in Thor: Love and Thunder.

And Natalie Portman’s transformation into the ‘Goddess of Thunder’ was revealed for the first time on Thursday, with the Oscar winning actress spotted on set as the pivotal scene was filmed in Sydney.

Movie magic was utilized to transform the 39-year-old from astrophysicist Jane Foster into the all-powerful female Thor.

Presumably the men will be digitally removed in post-production, to leave the impression of Portman ascending into the air.

She battled Sydney’s coastal wind in an attempt to keep her straight, shoulder-length brunette tresses from obscuring her famous features.

Also spotted on set was Natalie’s co-star, Tessa Thompson, reprising her role of Valkyrie from the film series’ third installment, Thor: Ragnarok. 

The Creed actress looked sharp in a pinstripe suit as she waited between takes and made sure to keep hydrated with a bottle of water.

The Los Angeles, California native then mounted a horse for her scene.
