Jumanji 4 is in development as film’s producer reveals the cast and crew have ‘been discussing’ the potential of another sequel

A fourth Jumanji film is in development as it was revealed on Wednesday that the cast and crew have ‘been discussing’ the potential for another sequel.

One of the film’s producers, Hiram Garcia, who is President of Production at Seven Bucks Productions, spoke with ComicBook.com about the plans for another film to follow-up 2019’s The Next Level.

Starring Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black, the most recent film hinted the game had entered the real world as a flock of ostriches were seen escaping it.

Exciting: Jumanji 4 is in development as film’s producer Hiram Garcia revealed on Wednesday that the cast and crew have ‘been discussing’ the potential of another sequel

Garcia claimed they ‘have a really big idea’ for a fourth Jumanji film, but could not divulge much more information other than the fact it was in discussion.

When asked about if there would be another film, he said: ‘100 percent. You know, we’re always having conversations, and that’s a family, that entire group if there’s ever been.

‘It’s hard to imagine or remember a time I’ve been on a set where it’s just a beloved group of cast and crew and actors and that’s just one of those things where we know we have a really big idea that we want to do with it. We’ve been discussing it.’

He added: ‘There’s conversations [that] have been going, we’re in the process of moving that along.’

Garcia also claimed the story they had planned for a fourth movie was one of his company’s ‘favourite projects’.

There have been two films so far with Johnson, Hart, Gillan and Black as the film’s leads, titled Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level.

The two action blockbusters are direct successors to the late Robin Williams’ classic Jumanji, which was released in 1995.

Preparations are underway: When asked about if there would be another film , he said: '100 percent... we have a really big idea that we want to do with it. We've been discussing it'

In the latest films, the quartet portray playable characters within the game, avatars that four teens accidentally inhabit when they get sucked into it.

After escaping the game alongside lost Alex (Colin Hanks, also played by Nick Jonas in the game) in Welcome To The Jungle, teens Spencer, Fridge, Bethany, and Martha try to put the game behind them and move on with their lives.

However, in the sequel, Fridge, Bethany, Martha, and Alex are forced to return to the game after Spencer gets stuck inside it, and also take Spencer’s grandfather Eddie (Danny DeVito) and his former friend Milo (Danny Glover) along with them.
