Culpo took a more serious note the day before as she honored endometriosis awareness month with her own story and a series of images from her hospital stay.

‘Endometriosis was the most painful experience of my life and I am not alone as 1 in 10 women suffer from this condition on varying scales,’ she wrote. ‘I feel so honored to have been able to share my journey with all of you, not only to spread awareness but to also connect with the many women who also suffer with this.’

Olivia had surgery in November to treat her endometriosis, a condition which causes the uterine lining to grow outside of the uterus.

‘These photos bring back so many emotions, but mostly gratitude for finally getting the proper care and validation after years of severe pain and another diagnosis from a doctor telling me “you’ll be fine, period pain is normal,”‘ she added. ‘I am committed to continuing to raise awareness so women know what to look for and can advocate for proper care before it is too late.

‘Often times, women are not properly diagnosed and before they know it their fertility and overall health is irreversibly affected. Unfortunately this is a story that is way too common! I don’t want that to happen to any of you so I want to share the facts: painful periods are not normal.’

She also shared a few photos of her scarred and bloated abdomen with bandages covering her wounds from surgery.

‘Throughout the month I’ll be posting Endo facts and common misconceptions so you can learn more and share with others,’ she wrote. ‘To all my fellow Endo warriors, you are so strong and I love you so much!’
