Seven News and Sunrise have been broadcast from Marin Place for the past 17 years but the network’s headquarters has been based in Eveleigh since 2018.

The Martin Place location has hosted some of the biggest international acts, such as Justin Bieber and One Direction.

The moves comes after rival network Channel Nine’s headquarters were relocated to North Sydney from Willoughby.

The television studios were among the first in Australia, and were established on the site more than 60 years ago.

According to Domain, the Sydney TV site was sold in February for $249 million and it will be transformed into 460 new homes.

There will be nine apartment buildings set on the 6000 square metres of land as well as a park, playground and retail plaza.
