Elsa Pataky has reflected upon her private heartache after quitting acting at the peak of her career to raise a family.
Speaking to Jones magazine this week, the Fast And The Furious star, 44, explained that she’d selflessly chosen to put her acting career on hold after having children so that her superstar husband Chris Hemsworth, 37, could focus on making movies.
‘I decided to focus on them and leave my career on the side, to just do little things here and there and try to be happy with that, even though it was my passion and I loved what I did,’ the mother-of-three said.

However, as Chris’ career flourished, Elsa couldn’t help but feel envious.
‘It was hard in some moments, because you see the person you love doing what you’re so passionate about, you see them doing movies, and you wish you could too,’ she confessed.
‘But because of my family I didn’t want to shoot anywhere else and it was Chris’ moment – I just let him know that he could do what he had to do and we’ll follow,’ Elsa added.

Born in Madrid, Spain, Elsa found fame playing Elena Neves in The Fast and the Furious franchise, as well as starring in popular films such as Snakes on a Plane (2006) and Give ‘Em Hell, Malone (2009).
She married Australian heartthrob Chris in 2010, one year after splitting from her actor ex Adrien Brody.
Elsa and Chris now share three children, daughter India Rose, eight, and twin sons Sasha and Tristan, six, and live in a $30million mansion near Byron Bay.

While the exact nature of the film is unknown, Elsa did confirm that she’s been working on her fitness to prepare for her role as a ‘sort of female John McClane [from Die Hard]’.
Meanwhile, Chris is currently filming scenes for his upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Thor: Love and Thunder.
