AFL legend Barry Hall WINS Celebrity Holey Moley

‘It’s a big achievement!’ AFL legend Barry Hall WINS Celebrity Holey Moley… beating NRL icon Mat Rogers and Olympic speed skating star Steven Bradbury in the mini-golf showdown

He’s one of the AFL greats, having played for St Kilda, the Sydney Swans and the Western Bulldogs during his nearly two-decade career.

And now retired footballer Barry Hall has achieved success of a different kind, when he was crowned the winner of Channel Seven’s Celebrity Holey Moley on Sunday night.

The 44-year-old Melbourne-born star beat NRL icon Mat Rogers, 45, and Olympic speed skating medallist Steven Bradbury, 47, to win first place.

Following his victory in the mini-golf showdown, Barry performed a backward somersault into the Polcano pool.

‘This is a big achievement,’ he said after the win. ‘I’m very proud.’

Sunday night’s episode was certainly not free of drama, with television personality Denise Drysdale fracturing her shoulder.

The incident occurred while the 72-year-old was competing against Steven Bradbury during a ‘Frankenputt’ challenge.

As part of the Frankenstein-themed course, contestants who missed their shots were zapped by an ‘electric shock machine’ – which was controlled by an actor wearing an ‘evil gopher’ costume.

After missing her shot, Denise playfully tried to chase the gopher around the course, but ended up losing her balance and falling over.

‘Give us your little furry hand!’ she gleefully shouted, before tripping over and hitting the ground with her shoulder.

Denise immediately howled in agony and began writhing on the putting green.

In a matter of minutes, medical staff had wrapped Denise’s arm in a sling and escorted her off-set in a wheelchair.

Monday night will see eight kids compete three rounds of mini-golf for their chance to be crowned the winner of Holey Moley Junior.

Also up for grabs is the Holey Moley plaid jacket, a golden putter, and a $10,000 golf shopping spree.

Holey Moley was modeled off the US show by the same name, which became an instant ratings hit for the ABC in 2019.

The show is hosted by Sonia Kruger, while American comedian Rob Riggle and Seven sports anchor Matt Shirvington share commentary duties.

Golfing legend Greg Norman also serves as the resident golf pro.

Holey Moley Junior airs Monday at 7.30pm on Channel Seven
