‘This is my opportunity’: Rebel Wilson says she’s ‘still single’ and dating after her recent 27kg weight loss and split from Jacob Busch
Rebel Wilson has admitted her weight loss has had no impact on her single status.
Speaking at the Television Critics Association panel in Los Angeles on Thursday, the 40-year-old Pitch Perfect actress confirmed she was ‘still single’ and dating.
Rebel also said she’d been ‘shamelessly’ showing off her 27kg weight loss on Instagram and was ‘feeling great’ after shedding the kilos.

The comedian joked she was enlisting the help of her stylist on the TV show Pooch Perfect because her weight loss hadn’t improved her dating prospects.
‘I got two looks per episode. I got to work with my stylist and show off the new physique because I’m still single!’ she said.
‘This is my prime-time opportunity to just really put it out there.’

Rebel then revealed, perhaps jokingly, that she’d already been ‘asked out by two contestants’ Pitch Perfect – a reality show about competitive dog grooming.
‘The twist is that the contestants were related and they were actually mother and son,’ she added.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Rebel had split from her boyfriend of less than a year, Anheuser-Busch brewery heir Jacob Busch.

Rebel first revealed she was dating the 29-year-old millionaire in September, posting a series of loved-up photos with her new beau on Instagram.
According to People, they were introduced by a mutual friend in 2019, but didn’t start dating until Rebel returned to the USA after spending time in Australia last year.
‘They are officially boyfriend and girlfriend. He’s a gentleman, has very old school manners and treats her well,’ a source said at the time.

Rebel and Jacob enjoyed a series of romantic holidays during their whirlwind relationship, travelling to far-flung places such as Mexico and Monaco.
She hinted at their break-up on Instagram on January 16, writing: ‘Been a rough week for so many reasons… but I’m so grateful to have such loving friends and family.’
They were last pictured together on December 24 when they embarked on a pre-Christmas ski trip with friends in Colorado.

A source told Page Six earlier this month the relationship had ‘just run its course’.
In an interview with People in November, Rebel said she was determined to find love, and ‘deliberately went out and dated a lot of different people’ before Jacob.
‘I wasn’t very experienced in love and relationships… and so I went out and just gave it my all, tried really hard to find love and stuff,’ she added.
