Billie Piper wraps her face in a scarf as she steps out with partner Johnny Lloyd

She embarked on a romantic relationship with former Tribes frontman Johnny Lloyd back in 2016, and they’re now the proud parents of two-year-old daughter Tallulah.

And Billie Piper looked as loved-up as ever on Thursday, when she was spotted grabbing a takeaway with her beau during a relaxed outing in west London.

The 38-year-old actress kept her face covered with a black scarf as the couple strolled through Notting Hill’s perennially trendy Portobello Market.

The Penny Dreadful star looked casually cool for her outing, wrapping up in a black coat, which she teamed with loose-fitting blue jeans and black heavy duty boots.

With her colourful tresses styled in a high ponytail, she went largely unnoticed as she meandered through the streets of the English capital.

Meanwhile, rocker Johnny donned an olive green coat, which he teamed with black jogging bottoms and a pair of white Reebok tennis shoes.

Last month, Billie opened up about being in ‘dysfunctional relationships’ in the past, as she also revealed how her approach to therapy has matured over the years.

Although the star is loved up and happy with partner Johnny, she admitted that she has been in some less than ideal relationships in the past.

The star – who shares sons Winston, 12, and Eugene, eight, with her ex-husband Laurence Fox – told The Guardian: ‘I know about dysfunctional relationships. I know about what it costs to be a woman.”

During her interview, she also revealed that she used to lie about having therapy ‘because of [her] upbringing’ but is now proud to reveal she has sought help.

She said: ‘It’s just a general sort of scoffing at the unpacking of your problems. Especially if you’ve been successful, it’s this sort of, “Why do you need therapy?” That narrative. Now I’m that really annoying person who suggests therapy to everyone.

‘I do totally get that thing of going: “Is this a problem, or am I a problem? Should I just use stoicism and swallow it down?” And sometimes that can see you through – it just doesn’t last. Because the anger comes back up. Just this inexplicable rage.’

In October, Billie recalled how she got ‘completely hammered for three years’ with ex-husband Chris Evans when she was feeling burnt out from her teen pop career.

The actress married the radio host, 54, in 2001 when she was just 18 and he was 35, with the couple separating three years later and divorcing in 2007.

Speaking on the David Tennant Does A Podcast With… podcast, Billie said she had an ‘amazing time’ with Chris and likened their relationship to being in ‘your university years’.

Recalling how she desired a more normal life after finding fame as a teen pop star, Billie said: ‘I would say I was in a dark place and just ready to have a bit of a normal life, whatever that meant for me. I was just so tired.

‘If I’m honest, I was really burnt out. I also wanted to have some freedom. I wanted to stay at home and learn how to cook properly and do what felt like healing things. Also, I went and got completely hammered for three years with Chris Evans.’

David then asked her about her marriage to Chris, with Billie describing the relationship as ‘very loving’.

She said: ‘We had a really amazing time together, you know? I imagine it’s what your uni years feel like. Sort of reckless, but you’re learning a lot.

‘It was an incredible time and not to undermine our relationship because we also had a very loving relationship. It wasn’t just, oh we’re getting, going out, getting f****d. We had a very caring, loving relationship.’

Billie added that Chris also gave her valuable advice on ignoring criticism, citing his words of wisdom to her when some doubted a former pop star was the right choice to be cast in sci-fi series Doctor Who, where she worked alongside David.

She said: ‘I didn’t pay much attention to it. He taught me how to not do that. And then, with Doctor Who, I had a sniff of it, but I didn’t really know.

‘Of course, we didn’t have smartphones, so you weren’t constantly being reminded… So I just went for it. I wanted to prove myself as an actress. That was my goal. I wanted to prove it to myself, to my family and to the dream I had as a child.’

Following her split from Chris, Billie went on to marry actor Laurence Fox who she shares sons Winston and Eugene, with the couple divorcing in 2016. Billie is also mother to daughter Tallulah with boyfriend Johnny Lloyd.

Elaborating further on the burn out she felt following her pop star days, which saw her reach the top of the charts at just 15 years old, Billie said whenever people would see a glamorous photo of her, she often felt miserable in them.

She said: ‘Every time there’d be a picture of me looking completely groomed and manicured within an inch of my life, I can tell you I was completely unhappy and starving and dark on the inside. And I haven’t brushed my hair since… I really have rejected that stuff.’

Asked by David if she was able to ‘take in’ the level of success she was experiencing at such a young age, Billie admitted she has only come to terms with it recently.

She said: ‘I don’t think you are. I’ve been talking about this more recently and I think I’m only just coming to terms with a lot of those things that happened to me in my teen pop star years.

‘I think it’s deeply unnatural to experience such highs at that age. I think it gives you a false sense of power. I think it’s very confused and not something I’d want for my own kid.’

However, Billie added that she does not have any regrets about her days as a pop star, saying: ‘Not at all. None of it. I don’t regret that time.

‘I can’t regret that time, really. I don’t think that would be very helpful… I wish I had done some things better and I wish other people had done some things better, but I don’t sit there at night feeling really angry and regretful.’
