Olivia Munn relaxes at home after speaking out on her autoimmune disorder fibromyalgia

Olivia Munn took to social media Wednesday with an Instagram clip, after recently speaking out on her autoimmune disorder fibromyalgia diagnosis.

The 40-year-old actress wore a white top with blue jeans and silver hoop earrings, with her long brown locks cascading down in the social media clip.

The Oklahoma City native told People on Monday about getting the diagnosis in 2019 after ‘going through a lot of different ailments for years and not knowing what was happening.’

‘I wasn’t really sure what was going on with me,’ Munn said after disclosing that she was diagnosed at UCLA.

The 5ft4 beauty said she had to refocus on nutrition and ‘change [her] wellness routine pretty significantly’ to combat the ailment, which includes symptoms of sleep problems, fatigue and muscle pain.

‘I had to be super thoughtful about what I put into my body,’ she said. ‘I had to start eating gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free — I had to cut out a lot of things that I was used to having every day and things that I really loved.’

Munn said that the unpleasant symptoms she experienced led to her commit on a new path, health-wise.

‘My situation was at a place where it was like, “You’re either going to go down a path where you’re going to get multiple autoimmune diseases, or you have to stop now and we can try to get you better,”‘ she said. ‘It was like, “These are your choices.”

‘And so I had no choice, I was feeling so bad. I had to really listen to the doctor’s orders and cut all these things out.’

‘In order to keep yourself healthy,’ she said, ‘you have to find things that you enjoy. That was so impactful for me.’

She said she has her ailment ‘under control as long as’ she continues to focus on ‘the really important things’: exercise, eating healthy, sticking to the restrictions and meditating.
