Kate Lawler went into labour hours after laughing about long-time pal Alison Hammond’s gift blunder

New mother Kate Lawler has revealed she went into labour just hours after she laughed about her long-time friend Alison Hammond‘s gift blunder.

In a new interview, the Big Brother personality, 41, admitted that while her former co-star, 46, ‘isn’t very good at ordering shopping’, she appreciated her ‘best daddy’ babygro.

The DJ – who welcomed her daughter Noa with her fiancé Martin earlier this month – recently revealed her newborn was rushed back to hospital with breathing difficulties in an ‘overwhelming’ first week.

On the This Morning star’s funny present, the reality TV star said: ‘Yes she bought me a babygro. She told me she was sending me a present and she said ”I hope you like it, it’s for you”.

‘But it said, ”You’re going to be the best daddy”, instead of ”You’re going to be the best mummy” on it.

‘She admitted that she’s not very good at ordering shopping. But the sentiment was nice. At least the baby can wear it and Boj can hold the baby.’

Earlier this week, the blonde emotionally detailed the ‘overwhelming’ seven days she has experienced since arriving home from the hospital with her little girl.

The former Key 103 star explained Noa was rushed back to hospital on Saturday because she was showing signs of breathing difficulty, but was released after doctors ran a series of tests and gave them the okay to return home.

Explaining that her daughter arrived 11 days premature, Kate said: ‘It’s been… 1 day since I last cried, 2 days since her first bath, 3 days since we drove to A&E with her, 4 days since our first dog walk with Noa.

‘5 days since we learnt how to use a sling, 6 days since the doggies came home, 7 days since we got home from hospital.

‘We arrived home exactly a week ago and despite those five days spent in hospital were a mixture of magical, traumatic, painful, tiring and informative, (seriously it was like having a breastfeeding masterclass).’

Sharing her experience since returning to her London pad, the TV star admitted the ‘past 7 days at home that have been the most overwhelming experience of her life.’

Kate added that she cried while typing the post and revealed she breaks down when people ask her how she is ‘doing’ since welcoming her first child.

The former model said: ‘While Noa is beyond perfect, I don’t know if I’m coming or going. One minute I’m fine, the next someone asks how I’m doing and I burst into tears.

‘As I type this and ask myself that very question – how are YOU doing it’s made me cry. I’ve cried so much since she was born.’

Giving examples of what has made her feel emotional in recent days, Kate said: ‘I’ve cried because I’m tired, I’m not feeling confident in what I’m doing or if either of us are doing it right…

‘Over horrendous, dark thoughts about losing my daughter, when our meditation playlist came on as it reminded me of when Noa was in NICU.

‘I cried over spilt milk – literally. Expressed milk, poured into a storage bag which fell over, sending milk everywhere. BRILLIENNNT.’

‘I cry because my hands and my arms are in excruciating pain from carpal tunnel syndrome.

‘Nobody told me this is common for new Mums. Anyone else suffered from this? Pins and needles, numbness, shooting pains in hands and up my arms. I’ve got wrist splints on now though which are helping.’

The presenter went on to discuss the terrifying ordeal she endured when they had to rush Noa to a healthcare facility over the weekend.

She said: ‘We rushed her to a&e and thankfully were seen immediately. Her respiratory levels were high so bloods were taken but all came back normal and she settled so we went home.

‘I see other new Mums on here looking glam, like the first two weeks are a breeze and I truly wish I could say it is but it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.

‘Hopefully it’ll get easier. I’ve not done many stories as I just haven’t had time or the energy. Sending positive vibes to any new Mums feeling the same. Know you’re not alone and it’s good to cry it out. X’ (sic)
