Rebekah Vardy’s husband Jamie throws her a surprise Dancing On Ice themed birthday party after Sunday’s show is cancelled

This weekend’s installment of Dancing On Ice was cancelled in a bid to give everyone a break amid the spate of injuries and drop-outs.

And Rebekah Vardy certainly made the most of her downtime from the show on Sunday as she enjoyed a Dancing On Ice themed birthday party thrown for her by footballer husband Jamie.

The WAG, who turned 39 on February 17th, shared images of her special day which included skating-themed biscuits and a towering cake topped with glistening figure skaters.

She also uploaded a sweet snap of her cuddling up to her children Sofia and Finley on a swing chair beneath a showstopping balloon display.

Rebekah declared that she had the ‘the best’ time with her family as she gushed over her ‘amazing’ husband who pulled out all the stops for his wife’s celebration.

The white and silver themed party also included dazzling glitterballs, a balloon arch and a smattering of false ice cubes in keeping with the wintry theme.

Captioning her post, she penned: ‘I’ve had the best surprise birthday weekend @vardy7 you are amazing. So nice to chill at home with the kids but I’m ready to get back on that ice ⛸ #feelingblessed #grateful.’

Dancing On Ice took a break this Sunday to give the skaters time to recover following a series of axes and injuries.

The show has been filled with drama as Jason Donovan pulled out of last week’s edition after suffering from back pain.

Days earlier, Emmerdale’s Joe-Warren Plant and his partner Vanessa Bauer withdrew after they both tested positive for COVID-19.

Professional skater Hamish Gaman quit this week following a hand injury, with celebrity partner Faye Brookes forced to continue the show with replacement Matt Evers

TV star Joe’s exit was another blow in a string of disappointments, after Denise Van Outen, Billie Faiers, and Rufus Hound all left this year’s show, prompting viewers to call the 2021 edition ‘cursed’.

So many celebrities have been forced to drop out of Dancing On Ice that for the first time in its history, the show has run out of reserves.

The programme has come under fire from viewers who were concerned by how many celebrities and professional skaters were requiring medical treatment, putting further strain on the NHS.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of Dancing On Ice are reportedly ‘up-in-arms’ over the show after four stars were forced to quit the series.

According to reports from The Sun on Saturday, those behind-the-scenes feel the show is cursed and fear appearing on it when it returns on February 28.

A source speaking to the publication claimed: ‘Everyone backstage is up-in-arms about all the accidents and drop-outs. It’s unprecedented.’

The source went on: ‘It feels like a curse. Like everything that could go wrong has gone wrong.

‘Some people wonder if we’ll last until the end of the series. And all because of the number 13!’
