Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay are expecting their third child together and his fifth overall

Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay said they’re expecting their third child together in an Instagram post on Sunday.

The 41-year-old recording artist and his spouse posed in their bathroom as he ran his hand over her baby bump.

‘Overjoyed to announce…the family is expanding…!’ he said, adding the hashtags, #Number5 #5thandFinal #BlessingsOnBlessings.’

The Time Of Our Lives vocalist added, ‘You ready baby? Let’s go!’

The singer-songwriter, whose full name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, is father to two sons with Renay, Shaffer Chimere Jr., five, and Roman Alexander-Raj, two. He’s also father to daughter Madilyn Grace, 10, and son Mason, nine, from a past romance with actress Monyetta Shaw.

The couple exchanged vows in February 2016 and had a short split earlier last year – talking about getting divorced as of February 2020 – but eventually salvaged their marriage amid hunkering down during the pandemic.

‘We found a way back to happiness, and I can honestly say we’re better now than we were,’ he told People on Friday. 

The Grammy-winner added, ‘It doesn’t matter how much money you make if there’s no family to take care of after the fact – there’s just lessons learned. Definitely.’ 

In June, Ne-Yo appeared on The Talk, where he said that ‘the whole quarantine thing was kind of a blessing’ for his marriage.

‘The quarantine kind of forced us to sit still, block out the noise from the world, you know the world can get very, very loud, and we tend to let the world’s opinion mean more in certain situations than it should,’ he said. ‘We’re actually stronger now than we were before; now, we feel like we can really talk to each other.

‘I don’t know when it happened, but we got to a place where we felt like we couldn’t just say it, you know? You’re feeling something, something’s going on, and you know something’s going on, but for whatever reason, you can’t just come out and say it.’
