Incredible moment a huge spider is caught feeding on a tiny bird after it got stuck in its web

  • Red-browed finch found hanging upside down from sticky spider-web in garden
  • Resident was outside in the garden when he came across the horrific sight
  • He recorded his find and came back at night to find spider feeding on the bird 

A massive spider was caught feeding on a tiny bird that got stuck in its web.  

The red-browed finch was found hanging upside down from the sticky spider’s web in a backyard in Johns River, in New South Wales

The footage showed the bird wrapped in the spider’s web and hanging from its tail.

The resident, who is also a beekeeper, was in the backyard when he came across the shocking sight. 

‘Unbelievable…spider’s catching birds,’ he said. 

He later comes back and night to find the massive eight-legged creature feeding on the bird. 

‘That’s the spider eating the bird or sucking on whatever’s left,’ he said.  

A spider’s diet usually consists of crickets, grasshoppers, lizards, frogs, rodents, or birds.
