Jamie Jewitt shares a glimpse of Camilla Thurlow’s ‘rare and unique’ engagement ring

Camilla Thurlow’s fiancé Jamie Jewitt has shared a glimpse of her custom-made engagement ring after revealing he’d popped the question on Friday.

The Love Island star took to Instagram to share a video of the ‘rare and unique’ piece after spending six months designing it with her family, with an eye-catching gold leaf design and their daughter Nell’s pink birthstone.

Jamie added that he knew Camilla wasn’t a fan of ‘big diamond’ rings and decided to create the piece especially for her, after the couple announced they were engaged with their baby girl dressed in a sweet personalised baby grow.

Jamie penned a lengthy caption explaining the ring’s design after being inundated with questions from his fans, including the use of multiple metals and the shape, which was far from traditional for an engagement piece. 

He wrote: ‘As you all keep asking to see the ring I thought I’d let you know the story behind it. This is not an AD nor was this ring gifted. 

I just really want to show my appreciation for the amazing jeweller that helped me design this ring over the past six months, also to @conniethurlow @deborahthurlow and @sophie.i.17 for helping me along the way. 

‘Having known that @camillathurlow was a rare and unique human being, I really wanted her ring to reflect this. I know big diamonds were not her thing so we decided to make the ring elegant and understated like her. 

‘Being a natural beauty we thought the leaf design would best represent this, and in keeping with the natural theme we incorporated moonstones and also small brown and white diamonds to add a bit of sparkle. 

‘Cam has always worn a mix of white, yellow and rose gold so we used all three.

‘Finally, I wanted pink tourmalines to be added (Nell’s birthstone) as little Nell has completely changed our lives in a way we could never have imagined, I wanted her to be a part of this moment and therefore this ring. 

‘Thank you so much @victoriabedwelljewellery you really made this special. I really cannot recommend you enough!’

On Friday Camilla took to Instagram to reveal that she and Jamie were engaged, alongside a sweet snap of them and their baby daughter Nell wearing a personalised baby grow which read: ‘Mummy, will you marry my Daddy?’

Camilla also gave fans a glimpse of the ring as she gushed: ‘The most perfect ring that only the person who knows me the very best would be able to design for me ❤️’.

She added: ‘@jamiejewitt_ only you could totally surprise me and at the same time be exactly the wonderful person I know and love. What a perfect evening with these two, my future husband and our darling Nell.’ 

The adorable photo sees Jamie and Camilla grinning at the camera while little Nell, three months, looked sweet (and somewhat startled) in her special outfit.

Camilla was also sure to show off the jaw-dropping gold band designed for her by her model beau. 

Her post was met with a plethora of congratulatory messages from her fans and fellow reality stars.

Meanwhile, Jamie also shared the family snap and wrote a gushing message in which he revealed he loved Camilla and Nell ‘more than anything’.

He wrote: ‘She said yes!!! I’ll fail miserably if I try to describe how I feel right now. 

‘All I will say is I have everything I need right here. I love these two more than anything. @camillathurlow I can’t wait to call you my wife.’

Camilla and Jamie have been going strong ever since they found each other on the 2017 series of Love Island, when they finished in second place. 

She was initially unlucky-in-love during her stint on the ITV2 dating show, after her budding romance with Jonny Mitchell came to end as he began pursuing Tyla Carr.   

However things turned around when she met Calvin Klein model, Jamie, with the pair finishing behind Amber Davies and Kem Cetinay. 

While their romance is her only high-profile relationship in the spotlight, Camilla previously enjoyed a brief fling with Prince Harry in 2015. 

The Scottish beauty previously hinted at wedding bells with the hunk as she revealed the secret to their ‘lucky’ long-lasting romance. 

In an interview with MailOnline, the Scottish beauty said: ‘We haven’t said if it’s on or off the cards so we’re just seeing how we’re getting on. We’ll see what’s happening.   

‘We were quite fortunate in that we met and had this amazing time on the show which was three weeks from the end, so we had this incredible experience on Love Island. I was just really lucky.’

The beauty added that she and Jamie love hearing about other Love Island marriages after series two runners up Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen tied the knot in September 2018, followed by Jess Shears and Dom Lever a month later.

‘It’s about being in the right place at the right time’, the former Explosive Ordnance Disposal worker insisted.

In February 2019, the pair took their relationship to the next level as they moved out of his parents’ home and into their own house. 

Camilla and Jamie announced they were expecting their first child in May, by sharing a video of themselves holding up their ultrasound scan. 

The pair then announced the birth of Nell on Instagram in late October. Alongside a series of cute snaps, she penned: ‘Nell Sophia Jewitt | 4:32am 27th October 6lb 5oz. 

Just hours before her pregnancy news, Camilla hit back at trolls after they asked whether she was ‘pregnant again’ just three months after giving birth to her daughter Nell. 

The former Love Island star posted a defiant picture on Instagram as she celebrated her ‘broader shoulders’ and ‘wider hips’ since becoming a mother.

In a lengthy statement, Camilla reminded her 1.5 million followers ‘if a woman wants you to know she is pregnant, she will tell you’, while saying her body ‘spent nine months adapting not just to carrying and birthing a baby, but to becoming a mother.’

Camilla was quick to be praised by her 1.5 million followers as they applauded the star for her ‘classy’ and ‘dignified’ response. 

The media personality welcomed her first child with partner Jamie last October and shared a recently shared a candid insight into her experience as a first-time mum. 

Posting a sweet snap of her beau feeding Nell from a bottle, the honey-blonde beauty told her followers she expresses a bottle a day.

Camilla wrote: ‘I really struggled with breastfeeding at the start, and so decided the best thing would be to exclusively breastfeed for the first six weeks to work through any challenges. 

‘Those six weeks certainly had their ups and their downs but they gave me the chance to build my confidence and seek the support I needed. 

‘There are still times when it it is tricky and some days and nights are harder than others, but feeding Nell is so special and it was important to us that @jamiejewitt could be a part of that. ‘
