Sharna Burgess awkwardly refers to Brian Austin Green’s ex Megan Fox as his ‘WIFE’ during interview

Australian dancer and media personality Sharna Burgess had a rather awkward moment during a live TV interview on Friday, when she appeared on Seven’s The Morning Show

The 35-year-old, who is dating Beverly Hills, 90210 star Brian Austin Green, 47, referred to his ex Megan Fox as his ‘wife’ during the chat, before quickly fixing her mistake and calling her his ‘ex-wife.’

The gaffe was made when Sharna was speaking about Megan and Brian’s co-parenting arrangements, and the Dancing With The Stars personality handled it like a pro.

Awkward! On Friday, Sharna Burgess awkwardly referred to Brian Austin Green’s ex Megan Fox as his ‘WIFE’ during a live TV interview on The Morning Show in Australia

‘Yeah, look he’s a wonderful dad and an amazing…,’ Sharna trailed off.

‘And he and his wife, uh, ex-wife, have raised three beautiful children.’

She added that the pair, who announced their split in May last year, are handling their situation well.

‘They are so wonderful, sweet, kind and considerate… they’ve done such an amazing job and I think they’re doing a great job at managing their situation,’ she said.

‘So I’m grateful I’ve been able to fit into it and into their world and be apart of this.’

Sharna also revealed some details about her and Brian’s first date, saying she got the day wrong and showed up 24 hours early.

‘I’m notoriously five minutes late to everything by the way, so the fact I was 24 hours early to our first date was actually hilarious,’ she said.

‘But it gave us good banter…. we had a good laugh. He has a fun sarcasm to him that I think Aussies have, and we really connected with that.’

She said they eventually met up for coffee and got along so well they ‘lost time.’

‘We talked for like 4.5 hours and we nearly missed the things we needed to get to,’ she said.

‘Covid-19 makes dating different, we took our time with it, took it slowly and getting to know each other, it was a lot of coffees and breakfasts until we finally kissed and then there were fireworks and the rest is [history]…’ she said, as host Larry Emdur cut her off.

‘Don’t you go there girlfriend, we got the picture,’ he jokingly said.

Sharna debuted her relationship with Brian in January.

It was reported last month that Transformers star Megan, 34, and new man, rapper Machine Gun Kelly, 30, are not engaged, despite the rumours.

A source told People at the time that even though Megan and Machine Gun Kelly ‘plan on spending the future together,’ the couple ‘are not engaged now.’

Megan was seen around the time wearing a large ring on her left hand, which sparked rumours he had proposed.

But the actress appeared to address the engagement speculation as she posted a picture to Instagram showing her hand sporting a ring on her engagement finger with the words ‘F*** YOU’.

‘They are very serious and plan on spending the future together. There will be an engagement at some point, but they are not engaged now,’ said the People source.

‘Megan needs her divorce to be finalised before she can fully move on. She is very happy though,’ the insider dished to the magazine.

Her estranged husband Brian Austin Green announced their split last May and she finally filed for divorce the day before Thanksgiving.

Brian and Megan have been married since 2010 and are the proud parents of three sons – Noah, eight, Bodhi, six, and Journey, four.

Megan filed for divorce from Brian in 2015 citing irreconcilable differences, but she was back with him and pregnant with Journey the following year.

Three years after they got back together, Megan took the legal step of filing to dismiss the divorce petition in April 2019.
