Migos rapper Quavo is set to make his acting debut in the new movie Wash Me In the River with Robert De Niro and John Malkovich
Migos rapper Quavo is branching out, getting set to make his first foray into acting alongside Robert De Niro and John Malkovich.
The 29-year-old rapper (real name Quavious Keyate Marshall) has signed on to make his feature film debut in Wash Me in the River, according to Variety.
The film is currently shooting in Puerto Rico, with Randall Emmett (Midnight in the Switchgrass) directing.

Quavo will be playing a character name Coyote, described as, ‘a ruthless and heartless drug lord.’
The action-thriller is said to be in the same vein as No Country for Old Men, following a recovering opioid addict who seeks revenge on Coyote, who is responsible for selling the drugs that killed the recovering addict’s lover.
Jack Huston will also star in the film, though there is no details about who he will play, or De Niro’s and Malkovich’s characters will be.

‘I honestly think this movie is going to be one of the greatest to come of this time,’ Quavo said in a statement.
‘The experience was unbelievable for me, with Robert DeNiro and Jack Huston being so down to earth and making me feel like family,’ he added.
‘Gonna see me doing some stunts and a lot of what you hear from me in my raps! This is one of my biggest debuts I’ve ever had, and so proud of what we did and to get to work with Randall who’s such an amazing guy — I can’t wait to do more films with him,’ he concluded.

Emmett will direct from a script by Adam Taylor Barker, with the director producing with Emmett/Furla partners George Furla and Tim Sullivan.
‘Quavo is a superstar and a real actor,’ director Emmett said in a statement about the production.
‘Getting to see him bring the Coyote character to life is very exciting, and I think he is going to have a film career equally as big as his music,’ he added.
John stars: John Malkovich plays an unspecified character
While this will be Quavo’s first foray into film acting, he has been featured on a number of TV shows before.
Quavo has had guest-starring spots on shows like Atlanta, Star, Black-ish and Narcos: Mexico, along with numerous music videos.
Quavo has most recently been featured on tracks from Pop Smoke, DaBaby, Justin Bieber, Madonna and Rich the Kid.
