‘I’ve also never felt so grateful today. Grateful for the wonderful NHS midwives, doctors, nurses, consultants and everyone at The Whittington Hospital in London who took such good care of us, especially Noa.

‘Thanks to them, she was only in ICU from Thursday until Saturday.’

The former Big Brother star welcomed her first child with her fiancé and partner of seven years, Martin, in the early hours of last Friday morning – and their daughter was soon rushed to a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with breathing issues.

On Valentine’s Day Kate revealed Noa was out of the incubator but they were being kept in hospital because her daughter had lost too much weight.

Reflecting on the support given by midwives, she said: ‘I was given so much help and coaching on breastfeeding once I was reunited with Noa back on the post-natal ward so by Monday evening when we finally left hospital, I felt so much more confident with feeding and that she’d weigh enough on Tuesday, that we wouldn’t need to return to hospital.

‘Her weight at birth was 7lb 8oz. By Sunday she was 6lb 12.93oz, Monday – 6lb 12.36oz. Tuesday she weighed 6lb 14.05oz and the midwife weighed her today and she’s now 7lb 1oz. Noa is a champ.’

Kate went on to thank Martin, whom she calls Boj.

‘As is my fiancé Boj, who was the most wonderful birthing partner. He’s been my rock this past week when I’ve never needed anyone more. Will be back on Instagram soon my lovelies. For now, swipe to enjoy some highlights of Noa’s first week on Earth,’ she said.

On Wednesday, Kate updated her fans on how she’s been doing after giving birth, joking that she’d gone ‘slightly feral’.

In a lengthy caption, she said: ‘Six days post-birth and today I finally showered for the first time at home today.

‘Went slightly feral but the handsome is making sure I’m fed and watered – unlike our plants. I’ve cried lots today but I know it’s normal to feel overwhelmed with a mixture of emotions.
