Daryl Somers ‘to return’ for Seven’s reboot of Dancing with the Stars

Daryl Somers ‘will return to host Seven’s reboot of Dancing with the Stars’… 14 years after walking away from the show

He hosted the first seven seasons of Dancing with the Stars.

And Daryl Somers, 69, is ‘poised to return’ to the hit show when it returns to Channel Seven later this year, reports TV Tonight.

Seven will begin filming the series in March with former winners and runners-up returning for its new ‘all stars’ format.

The program will run as a two-week event later this year.  

On Sunday, Home and Away star Ada Nicodemou confirmed she would be returning to the dance floor, after winning the show in 2005.

‘When they first approached me… I thought that maybe I actually didn’t have it in me. I’m 43 now and I thought maybe I was too old,’ she said

‘But then I just thought, “You know what? Why not. It’s a challenge and that’s what life is all about at the end of the day. New challenges.”‘

The actress will be reunited with her original dance partner Aric Yegudkin.

Ada will also be joined by a several contenders from past seasons, including 2007 runner-up Fifi Box.

A former My Kitchen Rules star is also said to be in contract negotiations. 

‘A lot of people put their hands up wanting to dust off their dancing shoes,’ a source claimed.

Former Dancing with the Stars contestants who could return include Bec Hewitt, Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Pauline Hanson and Nikki Webster.
