Chicken products sold in Tesco, Sainsbury’s and B&M have been urgently recalled amid concerns over salmonella.

Yesterday the Food Standards Agency issued two alerts relating products found to contain the dangerous bacteria.

Shoppers are being urged not to eat certain batches of the product, and instead return them for a full refund.

Customers are being told to avoid eating certain batches of SFC’s Take Home Boneless Bucket product amid concerns it contains salmonella 

One of the products is Vestey Foods’ Chick Inn 32 Jumbo Chicken Nuggets, which are usually sold at Heron Foods, B&M, and B&M Express.

Elsewhere, SFC are recalling SFC Chicken Poppets and Take Home Boneless Bucket because Salmonella has been found in the products.

The frozen chicken products have been sold at Tesco, Morrisons, Sainsbury’s and Asda.

Alerts sent out by the Food Standards Agency yesterday warn customers not to eat Vestey Foods’ Chick Inn product if the best before date is for the end of January 2022.

The same alert applies to SFC products mentioned above, where the best before dates are September 2021, October 2021, February 2022 and November 2021.

Following the concerns, point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling the listed products product. 

Customers will be able to get a refund for the products by either returning them to the store or contacting the relevant company.

The FSA warned eating any of the products could result in salmonella poisoning, which can leave a person suffering from a fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.
