SAS Australia will RETURN for season two with filming starting in April

SAS Australia is BACK! Ant Middleton’s gruelling challenge show will return for season two after ratings smash… with filming set to ‘begin in April’

SAS Australia is all set to return for season two, with filming expected to commence in a matter of weeks.

According to TV Tonight, Ant Middleton’s gruelling challenge show will bring a gaggle of new celebrities to film the second season in April, although no on-screen premiere date has been confirmed by Channel Seven.

And in more good news for the series, it appears there’s no shortage of stars begging for a place on the new line-up following its epic ratings smash in 2020.

Programming boss Angus Ross told the publication: ‘This show is a bit different in that you don’t have to chase people to participate in it.

‘They will come knocking on your door, because it’s quite a different experience, as we saw last year, versus most of the other reality offerings on on television.’

The April filming date means that the show will be recorded in Autumn instead of the depths of winter, after the celebrities faced deathly cold temperatures last season.

SAS Australia was the most-watched entertainment program of the night during its debut episode last October.

Nationwide, the launch episode drew in 834,000 viewers, while Channel Nine’s The Block brought in 783,000.

The show roped in a string of high-profile celebrities to take part – including Candice Warner, Schapelle Corby and Nick ‘The Honey Badger’ Cummins – who battled it out to complete the SAS-style course over a series of weeks.

In an interview with Daily Mail Australia only recently, one of the show’s tough-talking instructors Matthew ‘Ollie’ Ollerton revealed who he would have on season two if given the choice.

‘As soon as they were saying, “What celebrities do you want?” all the lads, like a symphony, just went, “Kylie!”‘ he laughed.

‘I’d find it hard to be nasty to Kylie, I couldn’t do that to her. Maybe Dannii [Minogue]? Let’s get Dannii on!’
