KIIS FM’s Jackie ‘O’ Henderson fails to select a $525,000 art piece from amateur creations

KIIS FM’s Jackie ‘O’ Henderson fails to select a $525,000 art piece from amateur creations – but can YOU separate the real deal from the fakes?

Jackie ‘O’ Henderson is on an impressive $7.2million salary as part of Sydney’s #1 radio show, The Kyle and Jackie O show.

Considering herself to be an art connoisseur of sorts, her co-host Kyle Sandilands decided to put Jackie’s eye for expensive art to the test on Thursday.

The radio team tasked Jackie with identifying a $525,000 artwork among a sea of fakes created by the show’s staff.

Jackie went into the challenge with confidence, telling Kyle: ‘I’m going to be able to tell the difference. I know art more than you do.’

Eight members of the KIIS FM team created their own artwork, and the final products were mixed in with the real item sourced from Sydney’s Lyons Gallery.

Jackie shared her honest thoughts on all the paintings, before removing the creations she was confident were fakes.

When one painting came in, Jackie immediately said the consistency of the strokes and paint clumps made her ‘instantly’ know it was done by an amateur.

‘That actually looks good. I don’t like it, but it looks professional,’ Jackie said when one painting of an eerie theatre mask was presented to her.

A poster of Marilyn Monroe intrigued her at first, and she remarked: ‘I can’t imagine any of our staff could do that. I am impressed with that.’

Several items were then quickly dismissed for not looking top quality, and Jackie was left with two creations, including the real deal.

Jackie tossed up between the pop art poster and the eerie mask on canvas.

‘The mask one is really haunting and could 100 per cent be a $500,000 piece, and this poster of Marilyn could be from Kmart. A replica,’ she considered.

‘It could be the real thing, because I know those things are worth a lot of money… but it would be worth more if it was Andy Warhol’s stuff?’

Unfortunately, she ended up choosing the mask painting, which had been submitted by KIIS FM senior producer Pedro Cuccovillo Vitola.
