Lil Nas X detailed his past battle with depression in a candid TikTok video, which he reposted to his Instagram on Tuesday evening.

The award-winning artist, 21, uploaded a collage of old images and videos from his teenage years as he admitted he ‘no friends’ during college and feared death after his grandmother passed away.

‘Hey I’m Lil Nas X, and this is my story. In 2017, I became the first of all my family to get into college. During college I was depressed, had no friends… and my grandmother passed’, the musician started his post.

The Old Town Road hitmaker revealed he suffered from hypochondria following his tragic loss, before he launched his music career.

Lil Nas X – real name Montero Lamar Hill – wrote: ‘I started going to the doctor a lot in fear that I would d!e soon… hypochondria. In May 2018 I started making music. I was happy again!!!’ (sic)

The rapper went on to reflect on when he dropped out of college to pursue his dreams and moved in with his sister, before things took a turn for the worse.

The songwriter recalled when he was kicked out of his sibling’s house and moved in with one of his brothers, where he witnessed domestic violence take place.
