Police launch probe after five-month-old baby girl is found dead at a house in Perthshire

Police are investigating after a five-month-old girl was found dead at a Perthshire house.  

Officers found the child in Almondbank on Monday morning and are treating the death as unexplained. 

Police, paramedics and doctors had rushed to the scene off the corner of Bridgeton Brae and Lumsden Crescent at around 9.40am, and an ambulance left just after 11am, The Courier reports.

Officers were going door to door, carrying out enquiries.

A police spokeswoman said: ‘At around 9.40am on Monday February 15, police received a report a five-month-old baby girl had died in Bridgeton Brae, Almondbank.

‘The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.’

Two paramedics were seen carrying emergency medical response kits along the southern end of Bridgeton Brae.

Uniformed police officers, along with some in plain clothes, were going door to door, holding dossiers of paperwork and wearing blue latex gloves.
