Miley Cyrus jokes she ‘could be yours but you dumb’ as she spends Valentine’s Day with mom

Miley Cyrus has endured some high profile splits over the past several years, including the end of her nearly decade-long romance with ex Liam Hemsworth in 2019.

And for her first Valentine’s Day as a ‘single’ lady, the 28-year-old pop rocker kicked back at her Los Angeles home with her mother Tish.

As she showed off her outfit of the day on Instagram, Miley appeared to jokingly take aim at her former lovers, writing: ‘This could be yours but you dumb’

For her Valentine’s Day ensemble, the Hannah Montana alum kept casual in a black long-sleeve top featuring artwork for the rock band Led Zeppelin on the front of it.

She paired the classic band tee with a neon yellow hooded sweatshirt and a pair of shorts – that were concealed by the length of her shirt.

Cyrus let her bleach blonde shag poke out from beneath a hot pink beanie and she decked out her wrists in various chainlink bracelets.

In the afternoon, the Plastic Hearts songstress collected a bouquet of flowers from her front doorstep that were sent to her by her younger sister Noah.

‘When your sister is your Valentine,’ wrote Cyrus, who posed with the gorgeous arrangement on her Instagram Story. 

In a follow-up post, Miley clanked wine glasses with her mom Tish, with the pop star captioning the selfie snap: ‘When your mommy is your Valentine’

Tish, born Leticia Jean, looked  ultra cozy, while rocking a band tee of her own and a pair of pale grey sweatpants.

The 53-year-old, who married husband Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993, wore her blonde hair down as she modeled matching aviator shades with Miley.

For her final Valentine’s Day homage, Miley made sure to show appreciate for her band of beloved rescue dogs, who she also deemed her ‘Valentines.’

The evening prior, the Angels Like You singer took to her Instagram Story to show off the stunning arrangement of roses from her pal, collaborator, and producer Andrew Watt.

‘Thank you @thisiswatt ! You melted my #PlasticHeart with these flowers. I love you and the work we’ve done together so much! You’re very appreciated! XO’ wrote Cyrus.

Miley’s boyfriend/girlfriend-free Valentine’s Day comes after the former Disney darling revealed on social media that she is single and ready to mingle, after taking some time for herself.

‘I’m single now you know… after covid I’m ready’ she stated in a clip from her recent TikTok Tailgate performance prior to Super Bowl LV, which she shared to Instagram on Tuesday.

The always outspoken singer-actress doubled-down on her promise to be ready to mingle after the pandemic in the caption of her post.

‘Man. Being single sucks. All I ever do is WHATEVER THE F**K I WANT! Bahabahahahahabahahhahaha!’ she wrote with loads of attitude.

Miley’s last public relationship was with Australian singer-songwriter Cody Simpson, who she dated from October of 2019 until their shocking, but amicable breakup in August of last year.

Prior to taking things to a romantic level, Miley and Cody had a very close friendship, which began at some point in 2015. 

During their 10 month romance, the pair were very public with their affection for one another, often sharing photos and videos from their date nights, etc. to social media.

Miley confirmed the end of her relationship with Cody via an Instagram last August, with the pop star explaining that ‘for right now, two halves can’t make a whole, and we’re individually just working on ourselves, becoming the people that we want to be.

‘Like everybody else at this age, we’re just deciding who we want to be with our lives, what we want to do with our lives.’

She also stressed that, despite the split, her and Cody ‘have been friends for 10 years, and [are] going to continue to be friends.’

Simpson is now dating 28-year-old model Marloes Stevens.

Undoubtedly the most high profile relationship for Miley was her lengthy on/off romance – and eventual marriage – to Australian actor Liam Hemsworth, 31.

The pair first met on the set of their 2010 romance film The Last Song, which is based on the novel of the same name by author Nicholas Sparks.

Miley and Liam got engaged for the first time in 2012, which was confirmed by the couple in a statement to People. 

‘I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,’ Miley gushed to the outlet.

Unfortunately, the once loved-up couple called off their engagement in the summer of 2013, just as Miley was kicking off her infamous Bangerz era.

The couple would get back together – and reengaged – at some point in 2016, which Miley confirmed in an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in October of that year.

They would wed in December of 2018 during a private ceremony surrounded by their closest family and friends.

The marriage was short lived, with Cyrus’ rep confirming to People in August 2019 that ‘Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time.’

‘Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers. They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.’

Hemsworth is now in a loved-up relationship with 24-year-old model Gabriella Brooks.
