Today host Allison Langdon reveals she’s finally home after undergoing knee surgery following her on-camera hydrofoiling accident

Today show host Allison Langdon has revealed she’s finally home after undergoing knee surgery following a hydrofoiling accident two weeks ago.

The 41-year-old shared a sweet photo alongside her children Mack, four and Scout, two, to Instagram on Sunday.

‘So nice to get home to these two,’ she captioned the post.

In the picture, Allison sat on her bed and couldn’t wipe the smile off her face as she embraced her two young children.

Last week, Allison underwent surgery after seriously hurting her knee while filming a watersports segment for the Today show.

During a pre-recorded segment, the co-host ‘badly’ injured her leg while hydrofoiling – a relatively new watersport also known as foil surfing.

Balance is key on the board, and riders have to place more of their weight on their back leg.

Dramatic footage of the accident showed Ally being pulled from the water by her life vest by two male rescuers.

She was taken to hospital where she received treatment and flew back to Sydney last Friday ahead of her operation.

In a statement to Daily Mail Australia, Channel Nine described what happened as ‘an unfortunate accident’.

‘After nearly an hour of incident-free filming of a segment about hydrofoiling, Ally fell awkwardly as she headed back to the marina at the end of the shoot,’ they said.

‘It was an unfortunate accident, and she was immediately taken to hospital.

The statement added both Karl and Ally had a ‘comprehensive safety induction and a thorough run-through of all aspects of hydrofoiling.

‘As with every shoot, safety requirements, briefings and subsequent after-care, are strictly followed and prioritised.’
