Denise was partnered up with pro dancer Matt Evers for this year’s series of Dancing On Ice when they withdrew from the competition.

The pair were forced to quit after the star fell during training, which saw her dislocate her shoulder and suffer three fractures.

Despite her injuries, Denise and Matt still took to the ice last month for their first – and only – routine of the series.

She recently revealed she struggled with herself and her co-star Myleene Klass, 42, who was the first to be eliminated from the series, being compared to other celebs who had previous experience on the rink.

Speaking to The Sun, she said: ‘I found it quite frustrating because I’d never done it before. We got quite low scores and were compared to others who had a lot of experience.

‘That’s a bit difficult. I was like, ‘I can’t do it anymore, I only learned to skate two months ago.’

Denise stated that those doing lots of lifts early on in the competition have had more training or experience, something obsious to viewers.

She added: ‘We were two mums just giving it a go. It was like, ‘We’ve never done it before!’

Her comments came after she revealed she spent 15 hours with a dislocated shoulder after injuring herself because she ‘didn’t really want to bother the NHS’.

The actress explained that she spent a painful 15 hours with her injury before finally deciding she needed hospital treatment, because she didn’t want to add to the strain the NHS is under amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking during an appearance on ITV’s Loose Women, she said: ‘After the rehearsal I spent 15 hours with my shoulder being dislocated, because we didn’t really want to bother the NHS knowing that they’ve been so overstretched.

‘So it wasn’t until the pain was so unbearable that they advised I went in to see them. They put my shoulder back in but it popped out again, and then I skated on it in the most excruciating pain I cannot tell you.

‘After that, I had an MRI, and it was fractured in three parts. So I’ve got three fractures and dislocation.’
