The Originals’ Daniel Gillies shares first photo with his new girlfriend Julia Misaki at sunset

Daniel Gillies introduced his new girlfriend Julia Misaki to his 3.6 Instagram followers on Thursday afternoon with a sweet selfie at sunset.

As the lovebirds enjoyed a laid-back outing together, the beautiful cellist and model leaned her head on the father-of-two’s shoulder. 

The ocean could be seen in very close proximity behind them on their sweet stroll, while they packed on some light PDA. 

In the photo, Gillies wore a black hoodie, sunglasses and his hair perfectly tousled by the wind. 

Meanwhile, his girlfriend rocked a light-wash denim jean jacket with sherpa lining and a coy smile across her face.  

Despite not explicitly announcing they were dating, he basically confirmed their blossoming romance by drawing a pink heart over the photo. 

His post comes seven months after filing for divorce from his ex Rachael Leigh Cook after 15 years of marriage.

The couple first announced their breakup in a joint statement in 2019, which read, ‘This decision isn’t one we have come to easily or lightly.’ 

‘We love and respect each other as parents, people and artists and look forward to maintaining the best parts of our relationship for many years to come,’ they continued. 

‘Your discretion in this matter is kindly requested for the sake of our children during this time of transition. Thank you to those of you who are already aware; for your tremendous compassion and understanding,’ the former couple concluded. 

Rachael and Daniel share daughter Charlotte, seven, and son Theodore, five. 

The thespians tied-the-knot in 2004 after dating since 2001.

Cook has previously been linked romantically to Ryan Reynolds, Devon Sawa and Colin Hanks.
