New York’s mayor Bill de Blasio issued a state of emergency on January 31 due to the ruthless snow storm.

Blizzard like conditions and 50mph winds shut down the city and forced flight cancellations and school closures.

The city has now seen 32.5 inches of snow so far in 2021, which is double the usual amount to fall each year.

The chaotic weather isn’t set to stop any time soon as more snow is expected by meteorologists in the city over the weekend.
