The Chase’s Mark Labbett shows off his 5st weight loss in before and after snap

He revealed in August last year that he had lost almost five stones in lockdown.

And Mark Labbett showed off the fruits of his labour as he continues to slim down by sharing an Instagram snap on Wednesday.

The Chase star, 55, gave fans an update on his weight loss with the before-and-after snap, which saw him pose in the same outfit to show the difference.

Wow! The Chase’s Mark Labbett showed off his five stone weight loss as he posed in the same outfit to show the difference in impressive before and after snaps on Wednesday

In his recent snap, Mark’s white shirt was baggy on her slimmer frame while he pulled at the waistband of his trousers to show how much weight he’d lost.

He credited the company MuscleFood Goal Getters for providing a meal plan that helped him shed the pounds.

In his caption, Mark wrote that he was ‘very proud of [his] progress’ as he claimed the company’s meal plan ‘couldn’t be easier’.

Last month, Mark looked markedly slimmer as he posed in a white shirt for a selfie that he compared to an old photo that had been taken at an event.

It’s unclear how much more weight Mark has lost since August, but he has often shared similar selfies showing his more slender frame.

He wrote in the caption: ‘leaner, meaner lockdown with good folks of muscle foods. At this rate I will be the skinniest chaser.’

Mark previously revealed he lost almost five-stone in lockdown thanks to not eating out and running after his three-year-old son.

Appearing on Loose Women in August, the TV personality explained that he ‘never formally gave up any food’ but simply found he shed the pounds because he was having meals at home.

Detailing the dramatic weight loss, he admitted: ‘I think people are going to hate me, I’ve not been trying to lose weight, I’ve had the brush with this virus, and what’s been happening is I’ve not been going out.

‘My wife does shift work so I’ve been the primary carer… as my viewers will know, looking after a toddler, you don’t have time to eat!

‘I was 27 stone when I was diagnosed with diabetes, I was 23 stone at my last check up in March and hopefully I’ll be a bit lighter than that, but the main one is eating a bit more sensibly and I’m doing more exercises these days.’

Of how his eating habits have changed in lockdown, Mark went on to say he has started to eat less because he hasn’t ‘been that hungry’, which made him think that people ‘just get into the habit of eating lots.’

At the end of the month, Mark and Katie announced their seven-year marriage ended after their attempts to have an open marriage failed to work, with the star candidly admitting it was ‘better for them to go our separate ways.’

Mark revealed they’d split so she could be free to date her lover, after their plans to have an open marriage failed to work.

He told The Sun: ‘There was never any deceit on Katie’s part but it’s got to the point now where I realise it is better for us to go our separate ways and remain friendly.’

While Katie added: ‘I just want everyone to know what’s what and that we are all happy.’

It’s been revealed that Katie, who works as a nurse, has been seeing her senior design engineer lover Scott Bate, 30, for 18 months.

Mark, who shares a three-year-old son with Katie, admitted that he had a feeling that she was seeing Scott, but decided to approach things sensibly for the sake of their son.

But when lockdown came, things between him and Katie became strained and she started seeing Scott, resulting in Mark making the decision to end their marriage for good.

He explained: ‘When Katie first came clean to me about her boyfriend, I’d had an inkling. But right from the start, my attitude was quite pragmatic — this was spilt milk, what could we do about the situation to make it OK?’

He added that because they had a ‘family’ he simply could just ‘throw that away lightly’ as they had other ‘considerations’.

The candid interview also saw Mark blame his hectic work schedule and being away from home a lot, as well as their age difference, as contributions towards the split.

While Katie continues to see her boyfriend, Mark expressed ‘concerns’ that Scott was ‘good’ to his son after the youngster began mentioning Scott’s name.

Mark has said that Scott has met their son and he trusts him around their little boy. The quiz star added that he’s due to move out of their family home in Herefordshire next month.

Mark and Katie tied the knot at Arundel Castle, West Sussex, in October 2014.

In September 2019, Mark confirmed he was still with his wife, despite her admission four months earlier that she had cheated on him with a younger man.
