Taylor Swift is set to make a ‘new surprise announcement’ on Good Morning America

Taylor Swift has yet another ‘surprise’ in store for her devout fanbase.

The singer-songwriter, 31, will make the ‘new surprise announcement’ during an appearance on Thursday’s episode of Good Morning America.

And shortly after the morning show revealed Swift’s upcoming appearance, fans began to theorize just what the Grammy Award-winner’s surprise might be.

Many of Taylor’s fans suspected that she may be finally releasing some of her ‘re-recordings,’ which she has been working on for the past year. 

Swift has been rerecording her music released from 2006 until 2014, after her entire Big Machine Label Group catalog was sold – allegedly without her permission or knowledge – to Scooter Braun in 2019. 

The albums included in Taylor’s seemingly hijacked catalogue of music are Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), Red (2012), and the ever popular 1989 (2014).

Although the catalogue was re-sold to Shamrock Holdings for a reported $300 million in November of last year, Swift is able to ‘rerecord’ her songs, as per her contract, according to EW. 

‘She’s starting to drop her re-recordings!!!!!!!’ tweeted one eager fan on Wednesday, while many specifically guessed that the songstress would be releasing her re-recording of her 2008 hit single Love Story.

‘It’s the re-recordings!!! It’s LOVE STORY FOR VALENTINE’S DAY!!!! I SWEAR IT HAS TO BE!!!!’ expressed one Twitter user enthusiastically, while another wrote: ‘LOVE STORY IS COMINGGG’  

Taylor gave her ‘Swifties’ a sneak peek at the Love Story re-recording in December, when it appeared as the backing track for the Ryan Reynolds-directed commercial for Match.com.

Taking to Twitter to debut the commercial, Swift stressed that, although her ‘new re-records are NOT done,’ she has been ‘working hard to get the music to you soon!!’

Aside from some potential re-recordings coming their way, some fans of the Cruel Summer singer guessed that she may be releasing another album. 

‘new album weee’ read one tweet, while another noted that fans ‘don’t need another album’ because their ‘hearts have been ripped out enough’ by her two most recent releases.

In July of las year, Taylor majorly surprised her fans by dropping a full-length album without any notice, titled Folklore, which became the soundtrack to many people’s quarantines. 

Just six months later, Swift decided to do the whole ‘surprise’ release all over again by unleashing Evermore, another full-length record, onto her unsuspecting fans.

‘This woman!’ began one tweet. ‘folklore and evermore’s brother is on the way?? she is doing with all her re-recordings?? a long-pond evermore session?’

The latter portion of the Swift fan’s tweet was referencing to Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, which premiered on Disney+ in late November. 

Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions was a concert film, captured in quarantine under strict COVID-19 protocols, that showed Taylor performing her favorite tracks off Folklore for the first time.

She was joined by her fellow musicians and collaborators Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, and Justin Vernon, who were also a part of Evermore’s creation.

Fan would undoubtedly be thrilled to see some of their favorite Evermore hits performed acoustically by Swift and her go-to musical crew. 

Despite their great guesses, Swift fans will have to wait until Thursday morning for the big reveal.
