Dave Hughes reveals how Tim Robards saved his life

Former Bachelor star Tim Robards has forged an unlikely friendship with funnyman Dave Hughes in recent years.

And during a recent outing together in Bondi, Tim saved Hughesy from taking a dangerous tumble that could’ve ended in a trip to the emergency room. 

Recounting the story on 2Day FM’s The Morning Crew, the 50-year-old comedian said that he was walking near some jagged rocks when he slipped over.

‘You fell a**e over head,’ laughed Tim, who had called in to the show.

‘Tim caught me and he saved and I’m not kidding, he saved me from having a serious fall,’ gushed Hughesy.

‘I would’ve landed head first on the rocks and who knows what could’ve happened, I could’ve had a brain injury.’

Hughesy and Tim documented their trip to Bondi Beach on social media this week.

Posting a selfie on Instagram of the pair of them shirtless on Thursday, Hughesy: ‘The bromance is real.’

He added: ‘The OG @thebachelorau and my good self played tennis, jogged and swam. It was a great day.’

One day prior, Tim posted a selfie from the same outing and captioned it: ‘Found this guy drowning out the back of Bondi today… turns out he was faking it and just wanted the mouth to mouth… #cheekybugger #anytime.’

He then followed the post up with some photos of the pair playing a game of tennis together, which Hughesy won.

‘You win some… you lose some… @dhughesy went all Ash Barty on me in a clean sweep,’ he wrote.

‘Def didn’t bring my A game… Time to get to work defusing that cheeky slice backhand… ya got me! Plenty of fun and enjoyed our romantic dip afterwards.’
