Jeremy Renner sports cuts and bruises in behind-the-scenes snap from set of his Disney+ show Hawkeye

He’s been busy filming the new Disney+ series of Hawkeye since December.

And Jeremy Renner took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a behind-the-scenes snap from the set of the Marvel show.

The actor, 50, sported cuts and bruises on his face and hands as he transformed into his character Clint Barton for the shoot.

Keeping his outfit simple for the day on set, Jeremy wore a plain black shirt over matching jeans and sported a fake sleeve tattoo to get into character. 

Making light of the make-up that had been put on his face, Jeremy joked in the caption: ‘At least it’s not Monday’ alongside a bow and arrow emoji.

Jeremy stars alongside Hailee Steinfeld in the Disney+ Marvel show, and the pair have been hard at work on set in New York City since December.

Hailee’s character Kate Bishop is a member of the Young Avengers, and is set to take up the Hawkeye mantle from Jeremy’s Barton.  

Jeremy’s character has appeared in six Marvel films through the years, including Thor, Captain America, Avengers: Infinity Wars and Avengers: Endgame.

The True Grit actress, 24, spoke to People recently about her new superhero role, saying: ‘I am so honoured to be a part of this family that is the MCU.’

The new show will also feature appearances from actors Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Alaqua Cox and Zahn McClarnon. 

Florence Pugh will reprise her role as Yelena Belova from the upcoming Marvel Studios movie Black Widow, according to Variety. 

Hawkeye joins several Marvel adaptations slated for Disney’s streaming service, including The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight, She Hulk, What if…? and WandaVision. 

The show was originally slated to debut in May last year, but was pushed back to Nov. 6 and now will see a screen debut of May 7, 2021.
