Katy Perry admits her black hair is ‘fake’ after appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live

Katy Perry sported her iconic black hair during an appearance on ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, though she admitted later that it was ‘fake.’

The 36-year-old singer took to Instagram before appearing on the show sharing numerous photos and videos of dark hair and her stylish Dundas gown.

She also tagged makeup artist Michael Anthony, stylist Tatiana Waterford and hair stylist Jesus Guerrero in the post, before admitting it was fake on her Instagram story.

‘Mama has the night off so you get inches and @americanidol on @jimmykimmellive tonight ok,’ Perry said in the initial Instagram post.

That post included photos of her dark hair look, plus a video panning up, showing her full-length Dundas dress with a slit up the leg.

She was also rocking black open-toed pumps and ornate black and purple earrings, which were seen when she gave a hair flip for the camera.

The singer swapped her Dundas gown for a comfy striped shirt with her wig off, showcasing her short blonde hair.

Perry appeared on Live With Kelly and Ryan on Monday, sporting the same striped top from her Instagram story.

She revealed on the daytime talk show that she got to work filming American Idol shortly after giving birth to her daughter Daisy, who was born in late August.

”I did start filming American Idol season 4 after I’d given birth, five weeks later,’ she told hosts Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa.
