Hollyoaks’ Jennifer Metcalfe goes shopping for essentials with her beau Chris Eagles

She was reportedly accused of ‘breaking girl code’ by her former friend Danielle Mitchinson by dating her former fiancé Chris Eagles.

And Jennifer Metcalfe enjoyed some quality time with the former Oldham Athletic player, 35, as they went shopping for essentials in Cheshire on Sunday.

The Hollyoaks actress, 37, looked in good spirits as she chatted to Chris in the car after he was seen departing a supermarket.

Jennifer appeared to style her locks into an updo for the outing while she also sported a headband and a pair of diamond earrings.

Chris kept it casual as he donned a black hoodie and a matching pair of tracksuit bottoms with white trainers and a beanie hat.

The couple, who were first reported to be dating in December, departed together in the sports star’s Audi.

It comes after Chris’ ex-fiancée Danielle reportedly accused Jennifer ‘of breaking the girl code’ according to reports on Saturday.

The mother-of-two, 30, had been with the professional footballer for eight years before they parted ways during lockdown.

Sources claimed in December that Chris and Jennifer were part of each other’s support bubble, four months after she split from her long-term boyfriend Greg Lake. 

A source close to Danielle spoke to The Sun, claiming she felt betrayed by her former friend, and said of Jennifer: ‘She hasn’t said sorry, never apologised, the exact opposite. 

‘She has massively broken the girl code and she doesn’t even have any remorse about it.

‘Within a few months she went from being my new friend to being in my old house with my ex-fiance. It has definitely put me off trusting new people.’

MailOnline has contacted Jennifer and Chris’ representatives for comment. 

Chris and Jennifer were first seen together in January with sources recently claiming that the actress was ‘smitten’ with him.

The sportsman was also said to be single following his split from fiancée Danielle. 

Jennifer announced in August that she had secretly split from former Geordie Shore star Greg following an eight year romance.

Chris is said to be in Jennifer’s support bubble during the coronavirus pandemic with the sports star reportedly spotted visiting her Manchester home. It is claimed they had been dating since late last year.

A source told The Sun: ‘They’re really smitten with each other. They’ve known each other for a while but only very recently started dating.

‘The relationship is in its very early stages and things are going well. Who knows where things could go?’

According to the publication, Jennifer has reportedly known Chris since she became friends with Danielle last year.

The source added: ‘She was mates with Jen, but it has put a strain on their friendship. Danielle was with Chris for so long but just wants things to move forward. They still share custody of their kids.’

Chris and Danielle are said to have split in October after lockdown ‘highlighted that the relationship wasn’t working’. They share two children.

The footballer has reportedly paid for a rented three-bedroom apartment near his Cheshire home with a £500 allowance a month.

Hollyoaks actress Jennifer took to Instagram in August to reveal that she and ex Geordie Shore star Greg had sadly split.

Seemingly another casualty of lockdown, Jennifer revealed the couple secretly broke up a couple of months earlier.

She wrote: ‘Greg and I decided to part ways amicably a couple months ago.

‘We remain friends and we both will continue to happily co-parent Daye and would appreciate privacy during these times.

‘Thank you to everyone who has supported us before, during and after this.’
