Twilight star Nikki Reed reveals she’s been cutting husband Ian Somerhalder and daughter Bodhi’s hair since the start of lockdown

In addition to her acting career, Twilight star Nikki Reed appears to have a talent for hairdressing.

The actress explained how the extended period of quarantine has affected her home life with her husband Ian Somerhalder, 42, and their daughter Bodhi, aged three, as she spoke to People on Thursday.

The Sleepy Hollow actress admitted that she has taken up a role as the family hairstylist during the chat, saying she’s responsible for ‘everyone’s’ tresses.

Reed, 32, made a point of stating that, ‘I have not stepped into a salon. I do my own cutting. I cut everyone’s hair in this household.’ 

The actress also noted that she was not unfamiliar with cutting hair, and said that, ‘My mom’s a hairdresser so it’s not that foreign for me.’

She also spoke about how she has moved away from treating her hair with curlers and has come to appreciate her natural waves as time has gone by.

Reed remarked that, ‘I spent my whole life looking a certain way, and then I just woke up one day and was like, “What if we’re actually more beautiful the way that we’re supposed to be?”‘ 

She added, ‘Maybe I would look more like me…if I just embrace what I look like without flat ironing and curling or whatever.’ 

While the actress is best known for her portrayal of Rosalie Hale across multiple films in the Twilight series, she received much critical attention for her role as Evie in the 2003 teen drama Thirteen.

The picture was based on Reed’s early years; the actress also co-wrote the script alongside director Catherine Hardwicke.

She was later cast in the drama series The O.C, where she appeared alongside her future Twilight costars Jackson Rathbone and Cam Gigandet.

In more recent years, Reed has been working in television, and portrayed Rachel in the 2019 horror series V-Wars.

Her husband was also cast in the series as its lead, Dr. Luther Swann.

The sole season of the series debuted on Netflix and received mixed reviews upon its release; it was later cancelled by the streaming service.
