The Bachelor: Channel 10 confirms a new suitor has been chosen

Roses at the ready! Channel 10 CONFIRMS a new Bachelor has been chosen and promises ‘Australia will be very happy with our gentleman’

Channel 10 and Warner Bros. Australia have chosen the suitor for the upcoming ninth season of The Bachelor.

But they’re not giving away his identity just yet, and viewers will have to wait a few months until they meet the man being billed as the show’s ‘most eligible bachelor’.

Channel 10’s Head of Programming, Daniel Monaghan, told TV Tonight: ‘We’re really happy with who has signed on to The Bachelor.’

‘Australia will be very happy with our gentleman,’ he added.

Mr Monaghan confirmed the new suitor wasn’t a celebrity or a former contestant from The Bachelorette.

‘[You don’t know him yet], but you will,’ he said. ‘I think he’s a fantastic get for the franchise.’

Mr Monaghan said he was confident the new season ‘will deliver’, but hinted the tagline ‘Australia’s most eligible bachelor’ was ‘open to interpretation’.

‘Which is why it’s such a good phrase! Maybe you can be more desirable, for whatever reason…’ he teased.

The lead for The Bachelorette hasn’t been chosen yet, and likely won’t be finalised for a few months.
