Noal Gallagher has revealed his family’s pet cat Boots has become a ‘pain in the a**e.’

The Oasis hitmaker, 53, said that even though two members of his family are allergic to the feline, he’s forever met with rejection when he suggests getting rid of it.

It comes after Noel’s brother Liam took to Instagram to reveal his own beloved pet sausage dog Ruby Tuesday had passed away.

‘Not passionate about pets’: Noal Gallagher, 53, has revealed his pet cat Boots has become a ‘pain in the a**e,’ as two of his loved ones are allergic to the feline

Speaking on Funny How? podcast, Noel admitted he wasn’t the biggest fan of his family’s beloved cat, given some of them struggle with allergic reactions.

He said: ‘I’m not passionate about pets, they’re a pain in the a**e.

‘I’ve got a cat in London, and there’s four of us in my family and two of us are allergic to it. Not me.

‘So when we’re away on holiday everyone’s totally fine and then when we get back their eyeballs are on stalks and constantly sniffing and sneezing.’

Noel added that whenever he’s suggested getting rid of the cat, he’s met with furious rejection from his family.

He added: ‘I’m like, ”Let’s not have a cat”. [They’re like] ”Don’t you dare say that”.’

Later Noel confessed he may have a soft spot for the family’s beloved pet, adding: ‘I do love the cat. Our cat is cool, it’s like a dog, it’s not in anyway weird, it’ll come and sit on your lap and all that. But if I was allergic to it, f**k that.’

On Tuesday Noel’s estranged brother Liam took to social media to announce the sad death of his pet sausage dog Ruby Tuesday.

Responding to the announcement, Liam’s ex-wife Nicole Appleton, 46, whose marriage to the former Oasis star ended in 2014, wrote: Oh Liam…I’m in bits..our beautiful little Ruby Tuesday….’

Last month, Noel also confirmed that Oasis will be reuniting to record a new album – but without his brother Liam.

The band split back in 2009 after the siblings had a very public fall out, but they seemingly ended their quarrel this month when Liam, 48, extended an olive branch on Twitter claiming ‘this is our year.’

Despite hopes the pair had put their feud behind them, Noel is pressing ahead without his sibling, and will re-record 14 tracks that didn’t make it onto the band’s previous albums.

Speaking about his connection to the songs, Noel told The Sun: ‘I’ve listed the proper songs and there were 14. They just fell by the wayside of various projects from down the years.

‘I’m going to record them. Some are quite old school.

‘I was looking at the track listing and thinking, ”Actually, f****ng hell, no I’d approach that song differently”. It’s been very interesting.’
