Peter Andre looks shocked after making mistake during baking challenge with wife Emily

Peter Andre and his wife Emily competed in a fun bake-off challenge, which they shared via YouTube on Sunday.

The singer, 47, and doctor, 31, enjoyed some down time together at home as they took part in a couple’s bake off challenge, which saw them both make a courgette and lime cake using identical recipes which would then be judged by their children.

In a teaser for the second part of the video, which has yet to be shared on their YouTube channel, Peter looked shocked as he learned he made a mistake during the baking process.

Oh dear: Peter Andre looked shocked as he learned he made a mistake while making courgette and lime cake in a couples baking challenge with wife Emily, in a video they shared on Sunday

Watching Emily as she tried her hand at the recipe, he tasted a bit of her mascarpone cheese and icing sugar spread that would be put atop the cake after it had finished baking in the oven.

Confident in how he had made the cake earlier, Peter claimed it ‘tastes very different to mine.’

Surprised by his remark, Emily said that couldn’t be possible as there were only ‘two ingredients’ for the spread, and he quipped that it was actually three.

‘No, two,’ Emily told him, before asking which three ingredients he was referring to, and he said: ‘mascarpone, icing sugar and lemon curd.’

‘You didn’t mix the lemon curd in did you?’ Emily asked, to which he responded: ‘Of course I did, what do you mean? It’s really nice.’

Reading the recipe out loud, he went on: ‘For the topping, beat the mascarpone with the icing sugar until smooth… no!’

The YouTube video saw the couple explain the challenge to their fans before Peter went through the motions of making the cake, with the forthcoming second episode focusing on Emily’s efforts.

In the video, Emily admitted that because they only had one small lime between them but needed to use a large one according to the recipe they had to improvise and add in a lemon.

When Peter set out to start his bake, he was set to make a mistake from the get-go as he claimed he needed 200 grams of courgettes and thought two would do the trick as the bag they came in claimed all four weighed 500 grams.

Quickly coming in to save the day, Emily joked that she ‘hadn’t even left yet but was helping’ him, as she advised him to weigh his courgettes to make sure he didn’t use more than the recipe asked for.

Peter claimed he was planning to do so, and when they weighed the vegetables together they learned it was actually 600 grams altogether, and Peter only needed to use one courgette for the recipe.

Later on, Peter was seen making a mistake while mixing together the mascarpone cheese and icing sugar for the topping, as he added in three tablespoons of lemon curd despite reading out the recipe correctly to himself.
