Ben Fordham reveals his mother’s reaction when he tricks her into believing he’s bought a Bentley 

Ben Fordham enjoys pulling the occasional prank, and on Monday, his own mother was his target. 

The 2GB radio presenter, 44, shared the entire gag to Instagram, starting with a photo of what looked like a white, luxury vehicle. 

The TV star wrote in his caption: ‘Swipe to read my mum’s reaction to me buying a Bentley’. 

The second photo showed text messages between his mother, Veronica, and himself, in which he writes: ‘I just bought a secondhand Bentley!’ 

His mother urgently sent back a number of question marks, to which Ben replied, ‘true story’. 

Clearly less than impressed, Ben’s mother shot back another message, this time writing: ‘Call me’. 

Instead of picking up the phone to place the call, Ben ended her misery by sending a photo of his new ‘car’. 

That picture showed the radio star wearing pink shorts and giving the thumbs up while perched atop a toy Bentley. 

Unimpressed, mama Fordham texted back to her wayward son dryly: ‘You’re a goose’. 

It’s no wonder that Ben had his mum upset – the average cost of a Bentley starts at $200,000 and it often only goes up from there, with some worth $300,000 or more.

While Ben took over a coveted 2GB radio spot from talkback icon Alan Jones last year, he did not inherent Alan’s $4million per year pay packet. 

In a series of video posts on Instagram in January, Ben revealed he’d been fishing on a pier when a $50 note blew out of his pocket and into the water – and waded into the water to retrieve it.
