Shawn Johnson says she’s tested positive for coronavirus, as she’s expecting her second child with husband Andrew East (who had previously tested positive for the virus).

The Olympic gymnast, 29, opened up about her diagnosis in an Instagram Stories post on Sunday, writing, ‘Got my results back today and they back positive for Covid. Not gonna lie…I’m nervous knowing I’m positive. My body is just exhausted.’

Johnson, who shares daughter Drew, one, with East, 29, noted that ‘it’s been two weeks of [Respiratory Syncytial Virus] with Drew and now this.’

The Iowa-born gold medalist listed a series of stressors she’s living with amid her health battle.

She wrote, ‘1. I don’t want to get my family sick. 2. I have asthma and have had it my entire life so this scares me a little extra. 3. had a very close member fight for his life last month with battling Covid so it’s a serious topic of concern/hits home in our household.’

Johnson said that she’s currently dealing with ‘a cough, terrible sore throat, and headache,’ as well as ‘fatigue,’ the latter of which she attributed to her pregnancy.

‘Not looking for any kind of [pity] party,’ she wrote. ‘Just a reminder to take care of yourself. Drink an extra water tonight and wash your hands :)’

She later added: ‘Praying so hard for all of those babies out there tonight (sappy mama here) and everyone fighting for their health. Ok… this emotional mess of a human is going to try to sleep now. Love you all.’

The couple revealed earlier this month that they were expecting their second child in a YouTube clip, as Johnson spoke about the stress in balancing the pregnancy with her spouse’s diagnosis.

‘We were scared to begin with that you had COVID,’ she told her spouse. ‘We weren’t sure if Drew had it, we weren’t sure if I had it. So I was calling her pediatrician, I was calling my OB. … I was like, “What do we do? Do I need to worry about being pregnant?” especially early on in pregnancy.’

Johnson, who suffered a miscarriage in October of 2017, said she was ‘scared of potentially increasing [her] risks of miscarriage.’

East on Saturday chat with Us about his battle with the ailment.

‘I got lucky in the sense that I didn’t have too many complications,’ he said. ‘Unfortunately, we had close family seriously struggle through the illness so that opened our eyes to how serious things can get. After a few days, I was feeling more myself and am no longer showing symptoms.’
