Man, 46, is arrested on suspicion of murder after woman in her 40s was found dead with ‘significant injuries’ at house in Milton Keynes

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after woman, aged in her 40s, was found dead with “significant injuries” in a Milton Keynes house.
The 46-year-old man from Milton Keynes is in custody, Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit said on Sunday afternoon, as the launched a murder probe.
Officers were called around 10.10am this morning to the house in Beresford Close, Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes.
The deceased and injured woman was found at the address in the leafy suburb of the City.
The house sits down a quite close, around three miles from the city centre and less than two miles from Bletchley.
Thames Valley Police said the woman’s body was found with serious injuries at the property in Beresford Close, Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes, at 10:10am
Her next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
A scene watch is in place while enquiries are ongoing, with officers going house-to-house as they investigate the tragic incident.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Superintendent Justin Fletcher of Thames Valley Police’s Major Crime Unit, said:
“We have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman.
“Our thoughts remain with her family at this difficult time.
“We are in the very early stages of our investigation.
A 46-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody, the force said on Sunday afternoon
“However at this time we believe this to be an isolated incident and a man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.”
“We are carrying out house to house enquiries but would appeal to anyone who may have information that could assist us in our investigation,” Detective Fletcher added.

He continued: “Members of the public are likely to see an increased police presence whilst enquiries are ongoing.
